WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

If softball and dodgeball had a baby, one that didn't cry, you would have our 10 vs 10 adult tee ball league, AKA smushball. The format is similar to softball, but with the added bonus of being able to get the person out by hitting them with the ball.

WHAT ARE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS?

The BBL fully supports responsible, socially-distanced fun for all. For complete BBL smushball rules and regulations, see information provided to each team captain.

 

HOW MANY TEAMS CAN SIGN UP?

There are eight (8) team spots available for this season or about 150 players.

HOW MANY PLAYERS PER TEAM?

Maximum eighteen (18) players per team; minimum twelve (12) players. During the games, teams must have a minimum of seven (7) players with at least two (2) girls fielding and batting at all times. Otherwise, games will be considered forfeits.

WHAT SKILL LEVEL IS ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE?

Everyone! We will reiterate once again that its all thrill, no skill.

HOW MANY GAMES WILL MY TEAM PLAY?

The season is set for eight (8) games with no playoffs; however, this is subject to change.

WHEN DOES THE SEASON START?

The season is set to begin the week of July 10th, 2022 and end the week of August 28th, 2022... weather permitting.

CAN MY TEAM CHOOSE ITS NAME?

Yes. Team captains are responsible for picking a team name. So, be creative, have fun with it.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE MY TEAM WITH JERSEYS?

No. The BBL will give every player on each team their own unique jersey.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANY EQUIPMENT?

No. The BBL will provide all the equipment needed. You need only bring your sparkling demeanor.

 

WILL THERE BE OFFICIATING?

No. This is, for lack of a better term, a "gentlemen's" or "gentleperson's" league. All rules will be self enforced. If there are any problems of any kind, you will be asked to leave the league immediately without any warnings. Please be kind.

WHICH DAY OF THE WEEK ARE THE GAMES?

Games will be held on Sunday afternoons / early evenings.

WHAT TIME ARE THE GAMES?

Games will be played at 4:00pm or 5:00pm.

​

HOW LONG ARE THE GAMES?

Games will last 6 innings or 60 minutes, whichever happens first.

WILL THERE BE BEER?

Yes, it is called the Bend Beer League and BPRD has graciously allowed us to BYOB, but this comes with a certain level of responsibility. So, please act like responsible adults while enjoying those cold beverages. And leave no trace. See email for updates on policy.
